Privacy notice

What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it and how to ask us to change or delete it.

  1. Who we are. Rapple Logistics (Pty) Ltd, Reg. 2013/024198/07, a division of the Rapple Group, Brackenfell, Cape Town. We are the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
  2. What we collect. When you ask for a quote, open an account, contact us or use the client portal we collect your name, company, e-mail address, phone number and the shipment details you give us (goods, origin, destination, consignee names, invoices and packing lists). Customs clearance also needs company registration, VAT and import/export numbers.
  3. Why we collect it. To quote, book and move your freight, clear it with SARS Customs, invoice you, keep the records the law requires and answer your questions. We do not use your details for anything else and we do not sell them.
  4. Who sees it. Our staff, and the carriers, shipping lines, airlines, agents, hauliers, customs brokers and authorities who need the details to move and clear your goods. Some are outside South Africa. We share only what each one needs.
  5. How long we keep it. Customs and tax records are kept for the period the law requires (at least five years). Quote requests that do not become shipments are removed within a reasonable time.
  6. Keeping it safe. Client documents sit behind a login. Staff access is limited to what the job needs, and clients only see their own shipments.
  7. Website data. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time) for security.
  8. Your rights. You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. E-mail info@rapplelogistics.co.za or call +27 21 981 1825. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
  9. Changes. We update this notice when our practice changes. Last updated 29 October 2026.
